The EU is the biggest player on the global trading scene because we are the world’s largest single market with transparent rules and regulations. In fact, the Single Market has brought tremendous benefits for European citizen and businesses but it has not always operated smoothly. The full potential of free movement of goods, services and capital has been unexploited due to missing legislation and lack of enforcement. Therefore, I believe that we should work to implement Single Market regulation, regulation that is based on the principle of subsidiarity and aims before all to be effective and efficient. This necessarily means that we should create a competitive regulatory environment which in practice will facilitate but not frustrate production, innovation and commerce. In a long term perspective competitive regulatory environment will bring economic growth to the EU and prosperity to its citizens
