Undoubtedly, extending the minimum standard rate for VAT at 15% is in the interest of the proper functioning of the internal market. This is a significant achievement, since current rules have not been updated to reflect new developments and new economic realities such as the rise of a digital industry. In this sense, extending the minimum standard rate for VAT at 15% will on the one hand facilitate economic growth and on the other hand will fight tax fraud. Therefore, we should support it.
