Илхан Кючюк (ALDE ), in writing ‒ Nowadays companies and individuals in the EU are increasingly establishing business activities in EU countries other than where their core activities are located. If they become insolvent, there may be direct implications on the proper functioning of the internal market. To avoid that the EU Commission has a proposal that sets common principles and more targeted rules for insolvency proceedings and insolvency practitioners. The proposal focuses on the key priorities of making sure that effective frameworks for preventive restructuring, insolvency second chance frameworks, as well as discharge procedure are available. In addition, it introduces measures to increase the efficiency – and in particular reduce the length – of all insolvency procedures. Therefore, I voted in favour.
