Хуманитарната ситуация в Йемен (B8-0147/2016, RC-B8-0151/2016, B8-0151/2016, B8-0152/2016, B8-0153/2016, B8-0155/2016, B8-0158/2016, B8-0160/2016)

I supported the resolution because we all should be aware that the humanitarian situation in Yemen is as critical as the situation in Syria. In the 21st century it is an unspeakable shame for humanity that 16 million Yemenis do not have access to drinking water or sanitation because of fighting and embargo. In addition to that, it is totally unacceptable for two million children to not have proper access to education, food and medical care. For one reason or another, the whole civilian population caught in the Yemen civil war suffers from ongoing fighting, bombardment, food insecurity, dire living conditions and the disruption of essential services. In this critical situation, the EU – as the world’s leading human rights champion and aid donor – should provide emergency humanitarian assistance to the civilian population in Yemen. Together with the UN, the EU should use all of its political and economic capabilities to facilitate peace negotiations.
