MEP Ilhan Kyuchyuk visited the memorial center and honored the memory of the victims in the Bosnian city of Srebrenica, where in July 1995 the largest war crime in Europe was committed after the end of the Second World War.
“The darkest page of modern European history that bears the lessons of this war crime. the memory of the tragedy in Srebrenica is a clear signal that Europe continues to be a moral debtor to the Western Balkans. The countries of this region have turned from enemies to partners and like-minded people of the Euro-Atlantic cause. They have the right to live in a true European multicultural union. more than a quarter of a century after the tragic events in Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina deserves a European perspective. Together we must continue to work for peace in Europe and for the country to receive the status of a candidate member of the EU as soon as possible. Now, Bosnia and Herzegovina must look to the future,” Kyuchyuk said categorically.
On the 27th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica, the memory of the dead was also honored by a MRF delegation, including people’s representatives, mayors of municipalities, party representatives and representatives of the Youth MRF leadership.
