The special guest of the event was H.E. Aylin Sekizkök, Ambassador of Turkey to Bulgaria.
“History, customs, and culture are our wealth. I encourage the preservation and protection of traditions because diversity is a treasure. The richness of the world lies in its differences, and based on them, we must build bridges and unite society. Diversity is a source of pride for a country,” said Ilhan Kyuchyuk before the audience at the 7th working meeting “Language, Culture, Religion, Art, and NGOs.”
The event is organized for the seventh consecutive year with the support of the MEP, and the special guest of the seminar is the Ambassador of Turkey to Bulgaria, H.E. Aylin Sekizkök. This year’s edition is being held in Burgas and brings together representatives of the non-governmental sector, leaders of folklore groups, poets, writers, and activists of Turkish culture who work to preserve the elements of Turkish identity – language, customs, and traditions. Traditionally, the meeting gathers creators from different generations, facilitating the exchange of good practices and encouraging continuity between them.
The program of the cultural forum includes the panels “Preservation and Promotion of Turkish Cultural Heritage in the Republic of Bulgaria” and “Mother Tongue Education in Bulgaria and the Western Balkans.”
During the seminar, Kyuchyuk discussed developments in the fields of language, culture, religion, art, historical heritage, cultural identity, as well as future prospects for intercultural exchange and cooperation.
According to him, cultural activists are among the most important individuals who help preserve and develop the identity, language, religion, culture, and customs of a nation.
Other guests at the event included MPs from the 48th National Assembly from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) – Sevim Ali, Esheref Esheref, regional council members of DPS, mayors, and municipal councilors.
